Very responsive developer, great app!
So I’ve been on a hunt (more like an obsession) over finding the most productive & efficient apps to add to my daily arsenal (i.e. for organizing, working more efficient & faster by completing short everyday tasks that one would probably find tedious & daunting <— and shouldn’t we be knocking those out in a matter of seconds? how about 1 second? well then why not 1 millisecond? like literally!!! – …well how long does it take for the average person to click their mouse? Because that’s literally how long it will take POPCLIP to seriously change your life and put you wayyy in front, ahead of the game! Just a quick hover, and the most (awesome, and) useful options will appear that will help u knock out those annoying everyday tasks (or even learn! depending on your selected extensions which btw are completley downloadable & customizable for FREE!!! SEE —> pilotmoon.com/popclip/extensions/). I wouldn’t take the time out of my busy day to blatantly lie to you. And being the most indecisive person in the world means that I do LOTS of research before settling in on something. And I’m telling you now: that Popclip is Amazing. Life-changing. and a no-brainer for BEST productivity Mac OS apps out there! :) P.S. Even my younger Brother (who just thinks I’m plain crazy), had to agree and download (only) this after I gave him a speech about all the “efficient & productive” mac apps available out there that he’s been missing out on!
It looks and feels *so* much like you’d expect… that you don’t even notice it’s there. It’s just there when you need it to be. Great little utility.
Once I configured PopClip with the extensions I preferred it became an essential part of my workflow. I use it dozens of times each day, every day. This is excellent software and worth every penny.
Can’t live on a Mac without this App! Get it. You’ll love it.
I’ve been using this since shortly after its introduction, and could not be happier. It gives the "cut, copy paste" balloon that iOS uses for selected text, but then adds extensions: as a scholar I use a translation extension constantly, along with various linking tools- google, wikipedia, etc. I still can’t believe Apple hasn’t bought this up and incorporated it into the OS (where it belongs). In interface terms, the next best thing to sliced bread.
In. credibly useful. If you’ve ever wishedy you had certain features just a click away when you select text, like a character count or searching a certain site, PopClip is your answer. It’s clever, easy to use, and polished. Get it.
I’ve had this app kicking around forever, but I never realized how great it was until I was searching for a new clipboard manager. PopClip is not really a clipboard manager, but it is so darned customizable and allows me to do pretty much anything I want to do with selected text — look up a definition? Send it to an iMessage or email? Dial a phone number? Open a Web page? Change capitalization? Send it to Text Soap (my favorite text cleaning app)? It’s amazing how many things you can set PopClip up to do for you. Great app. Sorry I haven’t been using it all along.
This little tool is lightweight, not resource intensive and has become one of the first (and only) critical utilities we install on all our machines. Mark TOGO Media
I love PopClip. I use it all the time. If you use your Mac a lot and are always trying to find ways to help your productivity with your computer, this is a must have app. All I can say is try it for a while, customize it a bit with any of the dozens of add-ons offered to fit your needs and you will see for yourself. I did. Well worth the $7.
PopClip enjoys a place on my list of must-have Mac OS add-ons that include Default Folder X, TextExpander, and Dropbox. Absolutely, once you try it you won’t be happy without it.
I do not normally review apps, but this one is amazing. There are so many little, “utility” apps that claim to make your workflow better, but this one really does. It is painful to sit down and use another Mac (or Heaven forbid a PC), without this app installed. I’m honestly kind of surprised Apple hasn’t baked this functinality into OS X.
This simple app is one of the top apps I use, non-stop. PopClip saves buckets of time. It’s well thought-out. It’s unobtrusive. I’ve never had an issue with its performance. Plus..yes, plus…it’s well designed AND continually maintained. Any other app I’ve used that is remotely similar seems clunky and nay I say, yes…ugly. I don’t effuse easily—but this app has paid for itself, repeatedly. The team at PilotMoon have elegantly nailed the app’s intention and execution. Bravo!
I can’t remember who recommended PopClip to me, but I owe them a big Thank You. It just one of those add-ons that you use and you don’t think about. It is always there. It adds to your workflow without having to think about it.
I’ve been using Popclip since it first came out and all I have to say is that it is simply one of the most helpful and most used utilities on my computer. It always works as intended and allows me to configure it to be as broad or as focused in what it does as I like. It is like “right-click” 3.0 - in the same vein as right-clicking, but much more useful, much more elegant and much more powerful.
Theyve fixed the biggest problem that this had when I last tried the app, so Im giving it another shot. Everything seems very nice, but there are still a few small annoyances. One of them is that the menu of icons sometimes obscures other important UI elements. The only control they give you is choosing whether the menu appears above or below the text youve highlighted. Even though Ive chosen "above", it sometimes appears below, probably to avoid covering up any text Ive highlighted, in cases where that is large and maybe my cursor is closer to the bottom. This wouldnt be such a big deal if not for the next problem. The biggest problem is that the menu remains around much beyond being useful. Sometimes when I highlight text I dont want anything that PopClip has to offer. If I can do something with keystrokes (like cut or copy) thats always faster and easier, so keeping the menu around after Ive used the keyboard is pretty much always an annoyance. If PopClip behaved as though it were only one of many things I might want to use for my selected text, it would be better, but right now it seems to be built around the premise that youll use it for everything every time you select text. Its clever, and looks nice, but given the problems it has, its much easier to just copy and open the appropriate app and paste.
the dictionary funciton should open a popup menu (like three finger tap) not the Dictionary.app other than that, it’s all ok!
I loved it and then came across the available extensions and had a freakout time adding wha I could use and then rearanged so it makes most sense and cant praise it enough. For Real
…..just get it. PC is the most used app on my system and I wish they made something like this for iOs.
Until Apple bakes his code in, this app is the first I will install. :)
