I use this all day every day. Everyone needs PopClip.
I must use PopClip hundreds and hundreds of time a day, instanlty copying, pasting, adding snippets to other program, opening URLs, checking spelling, and on and on -- its simply an incredibly *useful* program. The UI and execution are brilliant. Cant recommend PopClip enough...probably my most *used* program aside from Typinator and Keyboard Maestro. 5 STARS!
Keeps getting better with every update. This is a must-have app for anyone editing, writing, or researching. Configure it to your needs by choosing from a catalog of extensions, and you can cut down on the clicks in your workflow — with one click look up a selected word in an online dictionary or other reference, copy/cut and paste selected text, change lettering from sentence case to all caps (or small caps), open mail with the selected content, open a URL and so much more . . . amazing what you can do with this small, quick, and simple utility. It’s one of those apps, you didn’t know you needed it until you try it. I couldn’t work without it anymore.
It is small amazing app that I use everyday. I really helps me to boost my productivity.
This is definitely one of the main apps on my Mac. It’s perfect to increase my workflow.
Why do not support Arabic language ?
I have a lot of apps, they are my one addiction, so I have many that do the same thing and many that I gave up on. But PopClip is not only fairly unique in what it does but it has proven to be indispensable.
Works perfectly to furnish scores of mini features which the user can add and remove from its pull down menu and floating menu bar. I use PopClip scores of times each day and don’t know how I got by before it was created!!! Must have App...
I Love PopClip I use it constantly. It works seamlessly and I love all the extensions one note, evernote, spotify iMessage character count reminder translate pronounce on & on… Keep the great apps coming!
Computers without popclip are fundamentally broken. This tool brings computing and interaction with text to a level that I have been waiting for for a long time. I love using extensions that just feel like magic (Lucky Link is one of them). Whenever I use the LargeType extension in presentations or for people across the room I get oohʻs and aahʻs. This is just fundamental to how I use a computer now.
When PopClip first came out I figured I would give it a try. I was not that impressed with it. It really didn’t do much that I couldn’t do with a simple shortcut key press, or some of the other utilities I used. BUT, as it’s matured it’s become a killer Mac utility that I use all the time. It’s hands down one of my Top 10 Mac Utilities. The secret power of PopClip comes from its extensions. It takes a simple utility, and turns it into a super charged power tool! For example, you can add on an extension that will let you search Wikipeid directly from anything you select. The Calculate extension lets you select a simple equation or say a fraction and get back a calculated answer or decimal number conversion. The over 100 plus PopClip extensions are where it’s at! If you are sitting on the fence thinking you’re not sure if PopClip is for you, then I would jump over to the PopClip website and check out the extentions page. That’s what brought me back to using PopClip, and I haven’t regretted it at all. It just keeps getting better!
I bought this app when it came out a few years ago. Back then it was simply to give you the same function you have on smart phones when you select text. It has coma a long way since then. I do not understand how this app isnt in “Essentials” yet or why it is not an “Editor’s Choice” yet. It is much more valuable than any of the stuff they are putting in. Computing without this app is inefficent and frustrating.
I use this every day, all day. PopClip works perfectly every time, and is wonderfully customizable for your workflow through the extensions. It’s $7 but well worth every penny and then some. It’s one of the few things I have set up to open up when my Mac starts up. My only quibble is at the moment the URL shortener seems to be on the fritz. But by all means, grab PopClip and you’ll wonder how you got along without it.
It seems inevitable that Apple will eventually add this functionality to OS X. Until that happens, there’s PopClip. Don’t deprive yourself: just get this!
I’ve been using this for several months, use it dozens of times a day, and have only scratched the surface. I recently started using an app called TextExpander, which easily saves snippets of text that I write a lot. Then I discovered you can add TextExpander (and dozens of other apps) to this PopClip menu so that defined text is automagically converted into a TE snippet. In fact, the two apps joined forces and typed this review, sucking it straight from my brain.
this app was great right off the bat, but i immediately noticed one thing tha ti have to gripe about. If i double click a word to highlight the whole word and then drag to select more text, the prompt does not come up :(
This is something that most Mac users should have and use. It shows up when you can use it, but stays out of the way when you don’t need it.
